For financial advisors

Your book. Your clients. Our paperwork.

ACE Management is looking for one or two experienced advisors in mid-Michigan who want to keep doing the work they're good at and stop doing the rest of it.

No proprietary product shelf No sales quotas Every conversation confidential

The reasons advisors usually call us.

My firm keeps raising the number I have to hit.

I spend more time on compliance than on clients.

I want to own my book, not rent it.

I'm five years out and there's no succession plan.

I'd rather not move my family to a bigger city.

We are small on purpose. That is the whole offer.

A large firm gives you a brand and a quota. A solo shingle gives you freedom and a mountain of administration. ACE is the middle: a Lansing-owned practice with real infrastructure behind it, small enough that you'll know everyone's name and nobody will tell you what to recommend.

If you've built relationships across mid-Michigan and want to keep them for the rest of your career, there's a seat here worth talking about.

What we handle so you don't

The pitch isn't a bigger payout. It's getting your week back.

Compliance and supervision

Filings, reviews, archiving and the annual audit. You'll still do your part, but it won't be your second job.

Investment research

Jeff runs the models and the due diligence as CFA charterholder. Use them wholesale, or use them as a second opinion on your own work.

Tax preparation in house

Our tax practice is on the same floor. Your clients get one answer instead of three, and you get a reason they never leave.

Client servicing

Account opening, transfers, RMD tracking, statements and the phone calls that eat an afternoon.

Technology

Planning software, CRM, portfolio reporting, secure document exchange, e-signature. Paid for and already running.

A succession path

Whether you want to buy in over time or sell your book to the firm and wind down, we'll put the terms in writing early.

Your clientsStay yours. We don't reassign relationships, and we don't house them behind a call centre.
Open architectureNo house funds, no proprietary products, no quiet pressure toward the thing with the better margin.
Greater LansingAn office on Abbey Road in East Lansing. Hybrid is fine; disappearing for a year is not.

Who this is for

We'd rather be direct about it than waste anyone's afternoon.

A good fit

  • Three or more years advising clients directly
  • Series 65 or 66, or a CFP, CFA or CPA that qualifies in its place
  • A clean regulatory record — we check, and so will your clients
  • Either a book you'd bring, or a genuine plan for building one here
  • You explain things in plain English because you want to, not because a compliance manual said so
  • You live in, or want to live in, mid-Michigan

Probably not a fit

  • You want a salary with no client responsibility
  • Insurance sales is the main thing you do
  • You're looking for a firm that will generate leads for you from day one
  • You want to run a strategy nobody at the firm can explain to a client
  • You're planning to work entirely remotely from out of state

Compensation is structured individually depending on whether you bring a book, and is discussed openly at the second conversation. We don't post a grid because the honest answer depends on what you're bringing and what you want to hand over.

How this goes

Discreet, and slower than a normal hiring process on purpose. Most conversations take a few months, and plenty end as friendly nos.

A coffee, off the record

No résumé, no forms. Jeff buys, and nothing leaves the table. If it goes nowhere, nobody knows you called.

The real numbers

You see our economics, we look at your book and your obligations. Compensation, ownership and succession all on the table.

Diligence both ways

We check your record. You talk to our clients and our custodian. Bring your attorney — you'll want one for the transition anyway.

A transition plan

Written, dated, and built around your notice period and your clients' paperwork. Nobody announces anything until it's ready.

Start a confidential conversation

This goes to Jeff directly. Not to a recruiter, not to an inbox anyone else reads.

On confidentiality. We know what you're risking by sending this. We don't contact your current firm, we don't ask for client names or account numbers, and we don't keep anything if you decide not to continue. Please don't send information you're contractually barred from sharing.

Goes to Jeff Hollenbeck directly, at our East Lansing office. No recruiter, no shared inbox, and nobody at your current firm hears from us.

Jeff replies personally, usually within two business days. If you'd rather talk first, call the direct line above.
